Description: We have come across an issue where a Discount Promo Trigger Item can be searched for using Product Search on the tills and then added to a bill bypassing the need for an SUV code to be entered to apply the promotional discount. This method also bypasses some of the restrictions/T&Cs of the Promo such as only allowing for one free glass of wine etc.
From doing some testing on the tills, it looks like there are a handful of these that work across all brands but M&C seems to be where they are used the most – in particular the Free Sign Up Glass of Fizz promo. I’ve attached examples of the main 2 promos that we are seeing being applied in this manner as well as details for the associated EE campaigns linked to them.
Just shy of £16,000 sales value of Fizz at M&C has been processed through the tills this way in the last 12 weeks and discounted to £0. Compared to £27,000 when an SUV code was used for the same time frame.
